Campus Ambassador

Purdue University Northwest | June 2024 – Present

As a Campus Ambassador, I represented Purdue Northwest with enthusiasm and authenticity, helping prospective students envision their future on campus. I guided campus tours for visiting students and families; led outreach events; and supported marketing campaigns that strengthened the university’s community presence. Through close collaboration with the admissions and communications teams, I learned how to engage audiences both online and in person, refining my public speaking, leadership, and communication skills.

Every event was an opportunity to tell a story, connect with people, and make them feel at home before they even arrived. This experience strengthened my confidence in presenting, organizing, and problem-solving under pressure, while reinforcing the importance of empathy, inclusion, and professionalism in every interaction.

Residential Assistant (RA)

Purdue University Northwest – University Village | August 2022 – May 2024

As a Residential Assistant, I created a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for students living on campus. Collaborating with professional staff, I organized programs that encouraged personal growth, connection, and community involvement. Conflict resolution required empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal communication; each conversation was an opportunity to ensure residents felt heard, supported, and valued.

Web Designer – Comm Creatives

Purdue University Northwest | August 2024 – Present

As a Web Designer for Comm Creatives, I worked alongside Dr. Toqa and a creative team to redesign the Communication and Creative Arts Department website, giving it a modern and student-centered look. I developed and updated web content; designed logos, banners, and digital visuals; and coordinated photo shoots to showcase the department’s people and spaces authentically.

This role combined technical precision with creativity, allowing me to apply my HTML/CSS knowledge while practicing branding, user experience design, and content strategy. Collaborating closely with faculty and peers taught me how to balance design with functionality and deliver visually compelling results under deadlines.

President – University Village Council (UVC)

Stepping into the role of President of the University Village Council marked a transformative journey of leadership and collaboration. Monthly meetings became a platform to inspire and guide a diverse team toward shared goals, blending strategic decision-making with empathy and inclusion. Through active listening and effective facilitation, I turned discussions into actionable outcomes that improved life within university housing.

The council’s success reflected a strong commitment to transparency, organization, and responsiveness, ensuring every resident’s voice was heard. I prioritized informed decision-making through data collection and feedback, leading initiatives that produced tangible improvements in community engagement and student satisfaction.

Serving as President has been both humbling and empowering; it strengthened my strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills while deepening my passion for community-building and positive change.

Collegiate Athlete – NCAA Division II Tennis

Purdue University Northwest Athletics | August 2021 – May 2025

Being a student-athlete at Purdue University Northwest has been a journey of balance, perseverance, and personal growth. Competing at the NCAA Division II level has taught me how to perform under pressure and make swift, confident decisions that extend beyond the tennis court.

Working closely with the coaching staff and teammates, I learned the importance of team cohesion, mutual trust, and adaptability—qualities that drive both athletic and academic success. Balancing training, coursework, and campus commitments required exceptional time management, discipline, and resilience, all of which shaped my mindset toward achieving excellence in every aspect of life.

Being part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee allowed me to serve as a bridge between athletics and the broader community. Our work focused on promoting leadership, teamwork, and service beyond the court or classroom. By engaging in discussions that addressed student-athlete needs, I learned how to advocate effectively, lead by example, and contribute to initiatives that uplift others.
